Why did you start working for Upshift?
I ran into a friend in 2021 who had been working for Upshift. He asked what I was doing and told me that I should join. He said that there were a variety of different shifts and schedules available. At the time, I was looking to make a move from my current job and Upshift seemed like the perfect next step.
What do you do outside of Upshift?
I try to spend as much time with my family when I’m not working. If you find me watching a tv show, it’s most likely food related. I love all the Food Network shows from Bobby Flay to Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I also listen to a lot of true crime podcasts which are always really interesting.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
The most important thing for me is having a good attitude. You need to approach each shift with a positive attitude and let that carry over into your work. It makes a big difference to the other Upshifters and staff you are working with. Everyone likes working with someone who brings a positive energy to a shift.
What have been your favorite shifts so far?
I’ve really enjoyed working on campus at the university and at Shipping Tree. Both locations provided a variety of scheduling options which meant that I could pick up as many shifts as I wanted each week. I was able to work with great people during my shifts and I got to experience new things. I’ve learned a lot from the shifts I worked.
