Tell us a bit about yourself. 

I live southeast of Columbus in Lancaster and found Upshift after getting unexpectedly laid off from the gas utility industry. I decided to give it a try and haven’t looked back since.

How has it been working on Upshift?

The variety of shifts and companies on the platform has made it so enjoyable to work for Upshift. It keeps things interesting, keeps me on my toes, and lets me decide not just when, but where and how I want to work. I had never done work in the hospitality industry before coming to Upshift, but have learned so much and added many more skills to my portfolio.

What do you like most about Upshift?

The flexibility that working for Upshift allows is definitely the best thing. In addition to that, I’ve been able to work at places and meet people I never imagined I’d have the chance to. I was able to work a party at the Ohio State University President’s house in December and the Governor’s inauguration at the State House in January where I was able to meet news anchors and other people you’d only see on TV as we served them.
