We are proud to announce that our Upshifter of the Month for February is Matthew C. Matthew has worked a variety of shifts including a fulfillment worker in a warehouse, a server at a restaurant and a bartender at an events center among others. His consistently high and glowing reviews (he has never received less than five stars!) from businesses led us to select Matthew as the Upshifter of the Month for February. When Matthew came in to accept his prize we asked him a few questions:
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am 23 years old and a senior at the University of Cincinnati where I am studying Economics.
How has it been working on Upshift?
My first shift I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was a little worried because I didn’t get to see the person I would be working for but there didn’t end up being any major problems. I had some confusion figuring out how to clock in and out but I called the Community Manager and was able to get it all worked out pretty quickly. The work has been what I expected. I’ve done a lot of part time work while at UC moving around but Upshift is the only side hustle I have now because it is so flexible.
What do you like most about Upshift?
The biggest thing for me has been communication. When I’m accepted for a shift I am reminded a number of times by text and email when to be there and I’ve always been able to get a hold of Gaelen quickly when there has been an issue I needed to resolve.
