Become an Upshifter in a few easy steps and access flexible work opportunities.
1. Fill out the application form and personality assessment
You will need to complete the personality assessment first. Only 12% of Upshift applicants will be approved to be Upshifters. If you pass the assessment, you will be invited to the Kansas City office for orientation / boarding. After your evaluation is complete, you will be granted full access to the network.
2. Pick up shifts using the app
Our flexible scheduling allows you to pick shifts that fit your schedule, skills, and interests. Whether you want a flexible part-time job a few times a month or a full-time “Upshift to Hire“ position, we can help. The shift will be yours once you confirm it. You will be able to clock in and out using the mobile app. Review the company and the company will review you. Having good reviews will give you more opportunities with better pay.
3. Make your profile stand out
After you work shifts, you will gain experience in the app and reviews from the businesses that you work for. As your profile grows, you will be able to find better jobs!
4. Get paid!
You will receive direct deposit to your bank account or a cash credit every Friday. You can also receive daily payments if you meet certain criteria. You can get paid everyday after you have worked on Upshift for at least two week through our partnership with Earnin!

Frequently Asked Questions
The personality test can be completed online within 10 minutes. If your test is approved we will notify you within 72 hours. There are waiting lists in many places, which may delay the receipt of boarding invitations.
The registration process can take 30-45 minutes. Before you become an Upshifter, you will complete all tax and employment documents and we will give you a brief orientation. All Upshifters are e-verified, so please bring a valid ID. A valid ID list is here: https: //upshiftdotwork.wpcomstaging.com/i9
After their first paycheck, all Upshifters can enroll in vision, health, and dental benefits. After receiving two paychecks from Upshift, you can apply for Earnin to get same-day/early pay.
