1. Fill out the application form.
First, complete the personality assessment. Only 12% of Upshift applicants are approved to be Upshifters. Congratulations if you pass! If you pass the assessment, you will be invited to the Toledo office for orientation/boarding. Once the evaluation is complete, you will have access to a mobile app to view all the shifts available in Toledo.
2. Open the app and start picking up shifts
You can choose shifts based on your schedule, skills, and interests. Whether you are looking to work a flexible part-time job a few times a month or find a full-time “Upshift to Hire” job, we are here to help. Once accepted, confirm the shift, and it’s yours. Use the mobile app to clock in and out. Review the company and the company reviews you. Having good reviews gives you more opportunities with better pay.
3. Create your profile
After you work shifts, you will gain experience in the app and reviews from the businesses that you work for. As you build your profile, better opportunities will be available for you!
4. Receive payment
Every Friday, you will receive direct payment to your bank account or cash credit from the previous week. Daily payments are also available if you meet certain criteria. You can get paid everyday after you have worked on Upshift for at least two week through our partnership with Earnin!

The personality test can be completed online within 10 minutes. If your test is approved we will notify you within 72 hours. There are waiting lists in many places, which may delay the receipt of boarding invitations.
The registration process can take 30-45 minutes. Before you become an Upshifter, you will complete all tax and employment documents and we will give you a brief orientation. All Upshifters are e-verified, so please bring a valid ID. A valid ID list is here: https://upshift.work/i9
After their first paycheck, all Upshifters can enroll in vision, health, and dental benefits. After receiving two paychecks from Upshift, you can apply for Earnin to get same-day/early pay.
