Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati and I’ve been working in the service industry for some time. I’ve worked a variety of different jobs, including being a server at Friday’s. I was looking around for another job when my friend who recently started working on Upshift told me about it, and I’ve been using it ever since.
How has it been working on Upshift?
Everything with Upshift has been great. I’ve only been doing it for a few months, but it has already done so much for me. Ever since I started on Upshift, things have been going so well for me. It has provided stability that jobs have not given me, and everything is finally falling into place. Also, it’s been really cool to be able to experience so many different jobs in a short period of time. I have worked with several businesses including Aero Fulfillment, Newport on the Levee, the Hyatt Regency, and have just recently been hired on full-time with Steinhauser.
What do you like most about Upshift?
The people I get to work with. I’ve met a lot of new people from working all different types of shifts and everyone gets along so well. It’s really easy to make friends while working on Upshift because they’re all such good people. I also like the flexibility of being able to choose when and where I want to work. With all of the opportunities available, Upshift is definitely set up for you to be successful.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born in Cincinnati, then lived in Florida for 17 years, and eventually moved back home. I’ve worked in the restaurant service industry my whole life, but recently went back to school to become a certified nurse aide. I received a multi-competency health degree, which allowed me get my patient care assistant certification and also qualified me to teach water aerobics.
How has it been working on Upshift?
It’s been a really cool experience. Working as a private duty nurse aide means that my hours vary each week. So when I’m not as busy, I can pick up extra shifts through Upshift to balance it out. It’s also been nice to be able to work in new places all the time. I really enjoy working with Elegant Fare Catering, where I’ve done banquet serving shifts at Music Hall, the Freedom Center, and Drees Pavilion at Devou Park.
What do you like most about Upshift?
I like that it gives me the freedom to make my own schedule. I can pick up shifts whenever I want to work, but I can take a break from it at any time as well. Also, I love the sense of community that comes with working on Upshift. At every shift I have worked at, I’ve noticed that the Upshifters have an immediate connection with one another, even if they had just met. We really do stick together as a group and are always there to help each other out.
