Why did you start working for Upshift?
I heard about Upshift on Instagram in October, 2021. I actually wasn’t looking for work when I first heard about it. The concept really intrigued me so I did some research and found out that you could pick up extra shifts in your free time. I decided to sign up that day and have been picking up shifts ever since.
What do you do outside of Upshift?
When I’m not working shifts on Upshift, I focus on my beautician business and do some online sales. Outside of work, my biggest hobby is collecting dolls, anything from LOL OMG, MGA, Barbies and American Doll. I’ve been doing it for a long time and really love it. I honestly have too many to count at this point but that doesn’t stop me from collecting more.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
Even though these may be one day shifts, you want to treat each shift the same way you would treat a full-time job. Make sure that you have the right attitude and take each shift seriously. Approaching each shift with the correct attitude and work ethic shows the onsite staff and managers that you are serious about being there. This will help you get future shifts at the businesses you work at.
What have been your favorite shifts so far?
I’ve worked at a lot of the venues around town including FTX arena, Nova Southeastern University, CMX Cinemas and loanDepot park to name a few. I really love meeting new people and getting to experience a variety of venues. Being able to pick up shifts at different locations keeps things fresh. All the people I’ve met from managers, staff, students, fans, guests have been really great. I’ve learned so many new things since my first shift which has helped to broaden my horizons.
