Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I heard about Upshift from a friend who thought it would be the perfect fit for me. I was looking for a flexible position that offered full time hours so Upshift was the exactly what I needed. I signed up in early March and have been working shifts ever since.
What do you do outside of work?
I work quite a bit so I don’t have a ton of free time. When I’m not working, you can usually find me watching sports. I’ve always been very into sports even from a young age. Since moving to Charlotte, I’ve become a big Hornets and Panthers fan. I haven’t been to a Panthers game yet but I’m hoping to get to one soon.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up as I had never picked up shifts on an app before. The app was very easy to use which allowed me to start picking up shifts right away. I recommend trying to pick up a shift right after you onboard so that you can get a feel for how things work.
Would you recommend Upshift to your friends and family?
I have really enjoyed all of my shifts since joining Upshift. I’ve only worked in hospitality focusing on back of house positions such as Dishwasher, Prep Cook, Chef Assistant to name a few. Some of my favorite places to work have been The Blake at Baxter Village, Morrison at Novant Health and the Ballantyne. All of these businesses really make me feel part of the team when I work there.
