Why did you start working for Upshift?
I heard about Upshift from a friend in September, 2021. She raved about how great it was that you could work at different venues and pick your own schedule. It sounded perfect for me as I just had a child and needed that extra flexibility. I’m really glad that I found Upshift because it’s been a huge help to me.
What do you do outside of Upshift?
Obviously, being a mom keeps me really busy and I try to spend as much time as possible with my child as possible. I also really love to cook for my family and friends. You can always find me cooking for a family event or party. I’m always trying to cook new things and that’s allowed me to learn a variety of different cuisines. Some of my favorites would be Filipino, Chinese and Indian food.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
I would recommend paying very close attention to the presentation during your onboarding so that you understand how everything works. You should also be willing to reach out if you have questions. I always make sure to read through the shift details a couple of times before applying so I understand what I’m committing to.
What have been your favorite shifts so far?
I really feel like I’ve worked everywhere at this point. I’ve mostly worked hospitality shifts as a banquet server. It’s hard to pick my favorite palace but some of them would have to be COSI and Columbus Museum of Art. I really love the fact that you can work at different venues around the city. All the venues are different and this allows you to experience and learn new things.
