Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I heard about Upshift from a few friends who signed up. I had a job but was looking for something more flexible to be able to spend more time with my family. I onboarded in 2023 and have really enjoyed my time with Upshift.
What do you do outside of work?
I try to spend as much of my free time with my family. I have 5 kids so they keep me pretty busy. One of the great things about Upshift is the flexibility it provides for someone with a family. I am able to pick up shifts each week around my children’s schedules to maximize my time with them.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
I recommend going in with an open mind when you first join. There are so many different positions and businesses you can pick up shifts at. It’s all about figuring out where you enjoy working and you can only do that by trying out different shifts.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I’ve really enjoyed all my shifts since joining. I enjoy being able to work a variety of positions with different businesses. Recently, I’ve worked as a housekeeper, cook and food service worker. One of my favorite shifts to work is as cook at AVI Foodsystems @ Amazon KCVG. The staff is friendly and makes you feel like a valued part of the team.
