Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I found Upshift online and it peaked my interest. I was looking for something part time that offered me a flexible schedule. I onboarded in March, 2022 and started picking up shifts right away.
What do you do outside of work?
I have 3 grandchildren so I spend as much time with them as possible when I’m not working. They’re full of energy and always keep me busy running around after them. I love taking them to the parks and playgrounds near us.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
I always make sure to read through the shift details prior to applying for shifts to ensure I can complete them successfully. I look for shifts that fit my skillset and I know I’ll enjoy.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I had prior hospitality experience but really feel like I’ve learned a lot since I started working shifts on Upshift. I’ve worked banquet server, dishwasher and cook positions. One of my favorite places to work is at Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg as a cook. I really enjoy working with the team there and have learned a lot from them.
