Why did you start working for Upshift?
I heard about Upshift online when I was living in Tampa, FL. At the time, I was looking to make some extra money while I was in Florida enjoying the beaches. I didn’t pick up my first shift until I moved to Atlanta a couple of months later.
What do you do outside of Upshift?
In the summer of 2021, I decided to travel and see the country after not going anywhere for a while. I’ve always wanted to travel around the US since I was a little kid. I never had the opportunity to do it but I’m making up for it now. Getting to visit and experience new cities is incredible. The great thing about Upshift is I’ve been able to pick up shifts while traveling to these new cities.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
I think it’s really important to have a positive attitude, be open to learning new things and bring the right work ethic. I’ve found that having the right attitude makes the shifts a lot more rewarding and enjoyable. There are a lot of great options on the app so find the ones you like and make the most of them.
What have been your favorite shifts so far?
I started working while I was in Atlanta visiting some family. My first shifts were at Six Flags White Water and I really enjoyed it there. I actually ended up moving to Charlotte and picked up right where I left off working shifts as soon as I got there. I’ve been mostly working at The Blake at Baxter Village and The Blake at Edgewater, which were a really great experience.
