Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I recently retired from my career as an operations manager after a few decades at the same company. I was browsing on Facebook when I found Upshift. After retirement, I was looking for something to get me out of the house a few days a week to meet people and make some extra money. Upshift allowed me to tailor my weekly schedule based on how many hours I wanted to work.
What do you do outside of work?
I’ve really been enjoying the additional free time I have since I’ve retired. I have an older house so there is always a fun project to keep me busy. I also love to travel and try to go on a trip at least once a month. This can be anything from a short road trip to flying overseas. Two of my favorite trips recently have been to New York City and London.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
One of the most important things early on is keeping an open mind when it comes to looking for shifts. I retired after working at the same company for 30 plus years so this concept was new to me. I’m glad that I was open to trying something new because I’ve been able to learn new skills and meet some great people.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I’ve mostly focused on light industrial shifts since joining the platform. These positions range from Picker/Packer to General Labor to Fulfillment Associate. I’ve really enjoyed every shift I’ve worked but my favorite has to be working as a Fulfillment associate at RPI Graphic Data Solutions. The staff have been extremely welcoming and made mee feel like a real part of the team.
