Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I heard about Upshift from my niece who had already worked a few shifts. I was looking for a flexible part time job to make extra money after I retired. When my niece explained how Upshift worked, it seemed to fit exactly what I was looking for. I onboarded at the Atlanta office in March, 2022 and never looked back!
What do you do outside of work?
I’m retired so I have a lot of free time outside of the shifts I pick up each week. I love spending time with family, reading and traveling. For my birthday this year, I went to New Orleans for the first time. I really enjoyed the food and culture there. I also love being able to visit my family in Ohio and New York.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
I recommend being open minded when you’re looking for shifts on the platform. You have the opportunity to choose from a variety of different positions based on your experience and interests. I found shifts that I love by being willing to try something new.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I picked up my first shifts as a Server at St. George Village and just kept going back. I love working with the staff and residents there. It’s a senior living facility so being able to serve the residents and provide a positive experience is extremely rewarding.
