Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I actually heard about Upshift from my children. My daughter had just signed up and she thought it would be perfect for me. I was working in the finance world and was ready for a break. I planned on going back to school and was looking for a job with a flexible schedule. I signed up in the Spring, 2023 and have been picking up shifts since then.
What do you do outside of work?
I keep pretty busy with work during the day and school at night. I don’t have a ton of hobbies but love spending time with family when I have free time. My first granddaughter was born recently so I spend as much as time as possible with her.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
The main advice I would give is be open to new possibilities and keep an eye out for shifts that you’re interested in. There are a variety of shifts on the platform that you can choose from. If you are scheduled for a shift, make sure to show up on time, with a positive attitude and ready to do the best job possible.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I’ve worked at 10 plus locations on the platform and had really good experiences with all of them. I’ve mostly focused on hospitality shifts at a variety of different venues such as senior living facilities, catering companies and universities. My favorite shifts have been working as a banquet server at Southminster and Blake at Baxter Village. I really enjoy getting to work with the senior residents at both locations.
