Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I heard about Upshift in the Spring of 2022 from a friend of mine. I was looking for something part time that would help me make some extra money. I really liked the idea of making my own schedule so I was really excited to get started.
What do you do outside of work?
I like to stay busy outside of work and one of my favorite things to do is put on local comedy shows. It’s really great to be able to help people get their acts out there and having these events is a really great thing for the community as well. I’ve been doing it for awhile now and really enjoy it.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
It’s really about keeping an open mind and being willing to try out a few different shifts until figure out where you like working. I’ve had a good experience on all my shifts but there are a few places that I keep going back to because of how much I enjoy it there.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I’ve mostly focused on hospitality shifts working both front of house and back of house positions. I’ve worked several different positions including buffet attendant, grill cook, cashier, busser and banquet server. One of my favorite shifts to work is at Belmont Abbey College as a cashier. The staff is extremely friendly and they create a fun work atmosphere.
