Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I heard a radio spot for Upshift in December, 2019. It was great timing because things were slowing down at my full time job and I was looking for something to supplement. I needed to be able to work flexibly around my full time job and Upshift has allowed me to do that for the last few years.
What do you do outside of work?
The flexibility that I get with Upshift has allowed me to travel which is my favorite thing to do in my free time. I love traveling to different parts of the US that I haven’t been to yet. I recently went to Hawaii and it was absolutely amazing. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken and I can confirm the pictures definitely don’t do it justice.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
The biggest piece advice I would give is to try new things and be ready to learn. I’ve been able to develop new skills by working a variety of different shifts on the platform. This has helped me open up even more work opportunities.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I’ve worked at 15 plus locations on the platform and have worked a variety of positions from dishwasher to barista to banquet server. Some of my favorite places to work have been at Ballantyne Country Club, Firethorne Country Club and Charlotte Convention Center. I love working as a barista at the Charlotte Convention Center because they always have cool events going on which make the shifts really fun.
