Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I heard about Upshift from one of my friends who signed up and started working shifts. I was trying to decide if I wanted a part time or full time job so Upshift’s flexibility was perfect for me. I onboarded in June, 2022 and have been picking up shifts since then.
What do you do outside of work?
I’m a single mother so I spend most of my time outside of work with my son. He plays football so we’re always running around to practices and games. The flexibility that Upshift provides allows me to spend more time doing things with my son.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
It’s really important to show up early, prepared for the shift and with a positive attitude. Once I arrive onsite, I try to learn as much as I can about the tasks at hand and reach out to onsite supervisors if I have any questions.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
Prior to joining Upshift, I had retail, customer service and hospitality experience so I’ve been able to work a variety of shifts on the platform. My favorite shifts have been as a dishwasher and banquet set-up. Holiday Inn Independence is where I’ve worked the majority of my shifts. I really love working there because the staff is really cool and it’s a positive work environment.
