Tell us what got you into Upshift?
I spent 21 years in the healthcare field and was looking for a change. I found Upshift on Indeed and it sounded interesting. The fact that I could try out new positions without a full time commitment really stood out. I onboarded in July 2022 and never looked back.
What do you do outside of work?
My kids are grown up but I still try to spend as much time as possible with them. I also love to travel so Upshift’s flexibility has allowed me to do that even more. One of our favorite ways to travel is on cruises. I hadn’t been on a cruise for a couple of years since before the pandemic. However, I’ve been on two cruises this year including one along the coast of Mexico which was awesome.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
My main advice is to read through the shift details thoroughly to ensure you can be successful during the shift. All the information you need is right at your fingertips. You get to choose where and when you work so make sure to be as prepared as possible.
What has your experience been like on Upshift?
I’ve really enjoyed being able to work a variety of shifts since joining Upshift. I’ve enjoyed working as a quick service attendant, line cook and picker/packer. Working as a quick service attendant at the Great Wolf Lodge Arizona has been so much fun. My other favorite shifts have been as a picker/packer at Canteen – Phoenix. The staff creates a relaxed and positive environment that makes you want to keep working there.
