Amy loves the Columbus Zoo because the people attending the events are excited to be there which makes working there really fun!
Why did you start working for Upshift?
I joined in July after hearing about it from a friend and his sister. They really enjoyed working on the app and recommended that I try it as well. I’ve always had a second extra money job. My previous second job was working at an event venue for concerts but that ended because of the pandemic. This was perfect for me because I could decide when and where I wanted to work. Upshift allows me to try new things and meet new people which is great!
What do you do outside of Upshift?
I like gardening and landscaping in my free time. I do a lot of traveling locally to different historical homes and other sites. I went to England 3 years ago and have wanted to go back to Europe ever since. The next trip I’m planning is to Germany which I’m really excited about. I’m saving my Upshift money for our next trip!

What has been your favorite company to work with?
I really enjoy working event setup and banquet serving shifts. I enjoy the event serving shifts because the people attending the events are excited to be there which makes working there really fun. My favorite place to work is at the Columbus Zoo. Everyone loves going to the zoo so being able work shifts there is great!
What is your favorite thing about working on Upshift?
The flexibility is really what I love the most. I like being able to work as much or as little as I want. I can work multiple days this week and then take a week or two off if I need to. I like being able to to pick places close to me that work with my schedule. I’m not a night owl and Upshift offers a variety shifts that fit what I’m looking for. I’ve also met so many great people through Upshift. It’s a great community and we’re excited to see each other on shifts!
