It’s a really fun place to work not only because it’s at a zoo but also because of the staff there.
Why did you start working for Upshift?
I found Upshift online in the Spring, 2022 when I was looking for ways to make some extra money. The post caught my attention because it said that you would work when you wanted. I have 3 kids so having a flexible schedule is really important to me. I need to be able to update my schedule based on their schedules which change a lot.
What do you do outside of Upshift?
When I’m not working, I spend as much time as possible with my kids. They definitely keep me really busy. We like to spend time at the park or at the pool when the weather is nice. If we’re inside, you can usually find us watching movies. If I’m not with my kids, I like to be outside going for walks or riding my bike.

Do you have any advice for new Upshifters?
Don’t be afraid to try something new. I’ve learned so many new skills from picking up shifts on the platform. The onsite staff and managers are always willing to help if you have any questions. You may find a position that you are good at and really enjoy which you never would have known about without these shifts.
What have been your favorite shifts so far?
I’ve worked shifts at a few different businesses around Tampa including Zoo Tampa, Canteen Dining, CMX Cinemas and a few others. Everything from Banquet Server to Busser to Lobby Attendant. My favorite place to work has been Zoo Tampa as a banquet server. It’s a really fun place to work not only because it’s at a zoo but also because of the staff there.
